Wynn Resorts has eliminated triple-zero roulette from its casino floor, responding to criticism over the higher house edge tied to the game.
The triple-zero formats, which added an extra slot beyond the standard single- and double-zero wheels, gave the house an advantage of 7.69% compared with 5.26% on double-zero roulette. Many gamblers and analysts believed this version was not favoring the players, with some calling it “predatory.”
Wynn confirmed the change this week, saying roulette offerings at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore now feature only the traditional double-zero and European-style single-zero wheels. Industry leaders noted that Wynn is the first major Strip operator to take the step, a move that could influence other casinos facing similar player pushback.
“Wynn is a premium vacation experience,” Wynn Resorts told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “We are constantly upgrading our facilities and our service, but after a guest checks in, we have never forced guests to pay unfair prices for things that should be rationally priced. We regularly consider and evaluate our value proposition to our guests and do not hesitate to make changes to ensure we stay true to that.”
