A report from the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) reveals a record-breaking monthly sports betting handle. Operators collected $614 million in bets in November, marking a 14% increase from the previous record set just a month earlier. In October 2024, handle reached close to $538 million. Handle was also up around 20% year-on-year, compared to $514 million in November 2023.
Following payouts, revenue came to $69 million, up around 95% from October and more than double the $31 million generated in the same month last year. Blue Chip Casino, which operates the FanDuel Sportsbook, led with a $215 million handle, surpassing the previous leader. Ameristar Casino and DraftKings collected just over $206 million in bets.
Parlay bets were the most popular bet type, making up more than a third of total wagers, or $202 million. Football followed, collecting a handle of around $182 million. This comes amid the 2024-25 NFL regular season, which kicked off in September and will conclude in January 2025. The state’s beloved team, the Indianapolis Colts, reported poor results in November. The team lost three of their four games, which could explain the stronger month for sportsbook revenue.
The IGC has also reported November casino figures, revealing $186 million in revenue. Horseshoe Indianapolis led with more than $23 million of the total, followed by Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, generating close to $22 million. Revenue was up 8% year-on-year and around 2% from October 2024.
