Magnolia State casinos earned $207.5 million in revenue in November 2024, according to new data from the Mississippi Gaming Commission. The total marks an increase from $191.6 million last November and is also up month-on-month. In October, casino revenue came to $193.4 million.
A separate report reveals that Mississippi sportsbooks generated over $8.0 million in monthly revenue, up 159% year-over-year. Sportsbooks brought in $3.1 million in the same month last year.
The year-on-year increase can be attributed to a much higher hold this November. The handle was higher in November 2023, at $62.4 million, but the sportsbooks only kept around 5.0% of this. Results weren’t as bettor-friendly this November, with operators keeping 13.9% of the $57.9 million handle.
Revenue distribution by sport reveals that basketball contributed the most to the monthly total, generating $2.8 million from an $11.7 million handle. Meanwhile, football revenue totaled $2.4 million, with bettors wagering $26.8 million on the sport.
Mississippi operates a retail-only sports betting market. In November, coastal venues drew in the highest revenue figure of $4.8 million. Bettors spent around $39.0 million here. Central locations collected $2.1 million in revenue from a $13.1 million handle, while northern sportsbook handle and revenue came to $5.8 million and $1.2 million, respectively.
