The fourteen riverboat casino licensees in Louisiana collected $151.8 million in revenue in November, according to a new report from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. The figure marks an 8% increase from $140.5 million collected in the same month last year, with ten venues reporting higher revenues this November.
One casino drove the year-over-year growth. That was Treasure Chest Casino, which saw an 88% jump in AGR from $6.5 million to $12.2 million. But it was Golden Nugget Lake Charles that reported the most significant revenue figure of $28.3 million, followed by $25.8 million collected by L’Auberge Lake Charles.
The four casinos reporting a revenue decrease compared to November 2023 were Belle of Baton Rouge (-20.4%), Horseshoe Bossier City (-16.8%), Horseshoe Lake Charles (-11.9%), and Boomtown Bossier City (-0.5%).
Only one casino reported lower revenues compared month-on-month. Amelia Belle saw its revenue fall 2.4%. Statewide revenue increased by 13.1% from $134.2 million in October.
Louisiana’s retail sports betting revenue also increased significantly year-over-year in November despite a 2.7% drop in handle. The figure jumped 216.5%, from $1.3 million to $4.2 million. Meanwhile, online sportsbooks reported a 17.9% increase in wagers to $380.8 million and revenue was 187.9% higher at $52.1 million.
