New Jersey Hits $553.9 Million in Gaming Revenue in January

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has released the gambling figures for the Garden State in January 2025, revealing online casinos collected $221.6 million. That was a 20.9% increase compared to the total collected in January 2024.

Meanwhile, land-based casinos generated revenues of $210.1 million in January 2025, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. January 2025 was the second month in NJ history and the second consecutive month where online casino revenues surpassed land-based casino revenues.

However, it wasn’t all positive news for gambling operations. Sports betting gross revenue fell by 28.4% year-on-year to $122.2 million compared to the $170.8 million raised in January 2024. That decline contributed to the overall gaming revenue drop in New Jersey.

State-wide gaming revenues fell 0.9% from $558.7 million in January 2024 to $553.9 million in January 2025. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement collected $62.1 million in taxes from this total.
