North Carolina Reports in November Second-Highest Sports Betting Record

Following a resettlement and payouts of $576.8 million, NC sports betting revenue came to $78.1 million for the month. This also represents the state’s second-best monthly revenue. Its current record stands at $105.3 million, set in April 2024.

The North Carolina State Lottery Commission has updated its sports betting revenue report with the state’s latest figures for November 2024.

During the month, North Carolina sportsbooks handled $657.7 million, including $19.0 million from promotional wagers. The handle figure marks the state’s second-highest monthly handle to date, behind $659.3 million collected in March 2024, the month sports betting officially launched in the state. Compared month-on-month against $612.0 million in October, handle was up around 7.5%.

Revenue increased 60.5% compared to October 2024, when the state’s sportsbooks collected $48.7 million. October was a slow revenue month for a number of states despite reporting higher handles than September. This trend was evident in NC, where handle was up 6.4% month-on-month in October, but revenue fell 30.5% month-on-month from September.

The Old North State is home to eight online sportsbooks, including DraftKings, FanDuel, bet365, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, ESPN BET, and Underdog. Bettors can also enjoy retail sports betting at three tribal casinos in NC, including Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino, and Catawba Two Kings Casino.
